Fanfiction ahoy?
Apr. 19th, 2006 06:26 amThese were written for
about_rey, who is just generally wonderful and listens to me talk about weird things and is extremely nice. :D And who deserves fic! Hopefully these are okay. I ended up writing two because I'm one of those people who really likes happy endings... the first is really a drabble, and they're completely unconnected except that I wrote them one after each other because I wanted something happier. XD;;
Prince of Tennis
Tezuka/Fuji
G-ish? Drabble.
Years after they parted, they met again. It was an accident, really, a chance meeting at a crowded party thrown by a mutual acquaintance. Fuji still smiled, surprise only evident to one who knew him well. He was polite, but some of his words were loaded, implying things long since past, and he couldn't resist the occasional poisoned barb.
Tezuka was unchanged as well, to the casual observer. He was unaffected by Fuji's words and implications, perfectly controlled and centered. He refused to be thrown off balance, while Fuji refused to let him remain unaffected.
It was a brief meeting. A conversation, glances across the room, a slightly softened smile. A sweet stolen kiss in a side hallway. Memories of the strong desire only those newly in love feel brought back once more.
Afterward, they parted again, back to separate lives that were made colder by the loss of what could have been.

It was after practice one day. The clubroom was empty except for the two of them, Tezuka going over some paperwork and Fuji idly tying his shoes. Tezuka was only peripherally paying attention to Fuji, since Fuji was not at the moment causing trouble or demanding attention. Not that Fuji ever demanded attention, but sometimes it was impossible to ignore him, no matter how hard Tezuka tried.
There was silence for awhile. It was some minutes before it occured to Tezuka that Fuji was, in fact, still there. Watching him.
He turned and looked back levelly. He didn't say anything. If Fuji wanted to say something, there was no doubt that he would, whether or not Tezuka began a conversation. And if Fuji didn't want to say anything, talking would only give him opportunities to tease and distract- which Tezuka was fairly certain was the only reason that Fuji was still here.
He didn't have to wait long. Fuji's constant smile didn't change at all as he spoke. "Tezuka, have you ever been groped on the train?"
"No." Tezuka responded without any visible reaction, though inside he was trying fruitlessly to figure out why Fuji had asked, and where exactly he was going to go with this. With Fuji, you could never tell. There could be some deep meaning behind his words, or he could just be asking because he had nothing better to do.
Fuji confused most of the population of the school, although a good percentage of them adored him anyway. Tezuka had to admit that Fuji often confused him too, although due to years of practice he was adept at not showing it. He tried not to admit that, quite possibly, he also adored Fuji anyway. At this point it was probably useless, since they'd gone past friendship months ago. Still, 'adored' was a little strong. 'Was very attracted to' sat better with Tezuka. Not that he often admitted that, either.
"Really? Not once? But you know, sometimes the trains are so crowded. And you're very handsome, I'm surprised no one's tried." Fuji kicked his feet a bit, sitting on the edge of the bench, still watching Tezuka closely.
"No one has ever tried." That Tezuka had noticed, anyway. He didn't see why they would, after all. Handsome or not, he had a forbidding look about him that occasionally caused first-years to quake in fear. And second-years. And some teachers. And really, most people who weren't Fuji, who apparently feared absolutely nothing.
After a moment more of silence, something occured to Tezuka, and he narrowed his eyes slightly. "Why? Did someone do that to you?"
On one hand, if someone had touched Fuji like that, Tezuka would of course have to destroy them. On the other, if someone had touched Fuji like that, they probably regretted it very, very much. Fuji was subtle, but extremely vicious when roused. Tezuka wasn't entirely who to be more worried about- Fuji, or any poor stupid pervert who would dare to provoke him.
But Fuji only shook his head and stood up from the bench, walking over to Tezuka's chair. "Oh, no. I was just wondering. My sister said it happened to her once, before she could drive." A distinctly wicked look crossed his face. "Oh, Tezuka, have you ever thought about groping someone?"
"No." Tezuka sighed internally. This was most likely not going to end well. At least most of the paperwork wasn't urgent. He had relaxed slightly at Fuji's assurance that he'd never been touched, though, and wasn't entirely opposed to the idea of- whatever it was Fuji wanted.
"Good. Start thinking now, okay?" Fuji seated himself casually on Tezuka's lap, wrapping his arms about Tezuka's neck. He seemed very comfortable, and quite honestly, Tezuka couldn't complain either. And, just this once, he decided not to. There wasn't anything urgent to be done, and they had both been very busy with exams recently. Moments such as these had to be seized when one had the chance.
Still, Tezuka had to make things clear. "I am not going to 'grope' you, Fuji."
Fuji laughed. "Oh, of course not. We can call it something else if you like. Does 'caress' work better for you?"
Tezuka sighed, and gave in.
