It's harder to write when I have to work all day. I want the weekend back... so lazy...

Requested by [livejournal.com profile] zahho_mii, who asked for 8069 with Yamamoto making the first move before Hibari can! Though this is maybe not quite that, I hope it's okay anyway.

The most annoying thing was the laughter.

Yamamoto laughed a lot, when he was confused or surprised or just in a good mood. That was annoying all by itself - seriously, who laughed when they were confused? - but it was worse now. Now Hibari had to listen to Mukuro's even more irritating laughter.

He wondered if it had occured to Yamamoto that Mukuro was probably laughing at him rather than with him. That Mukuro was probably overjoyed that someone so dim and so close to the Vongola head had essentially offered himself up to be used in whatever scheme was hatched in the depths of Mukuro's twisted mind.

Not that Mukuro had done anything yet, but it was surely only a matter of time.

And nobody said anything, that was the weirdest thing. Nobody voiced so much as the slightest objection to the relationship between Rain and Mist, even though anyone could see that it was doomed to disaster, and Yamamoto was probably going to end up rotting in a ditch somewhere. It would serve him right, for being so stupid.

When Hibari had voiced his own objections (at length) to Tsunayoshi, the boy (still a boy, even at 27, forever in Hibari's mind) had looked away and mumbled something about Yamamoto being a stabilizing influence. Ridiculous. Yamamoto was clearly not stable. Any stable person wouldn't have asked a vicious murderer out on a date two weeks after he'd gotten out of prison.

And now there they were, sitting there and laughing, and Yamamoto even had his arm slung around Mukuro's shoulders. It was disgusting and idiotic and completely inappropriate, and Hibari had to turn and walk away.

Every time he saw them, he wanted to smash the smile off Yamamoto's face with his tonfa. One of these days, he'd do it.
